It's Been a While

Wow, it has been a long time since I have posted. I never thought in my life that I would be too busy to not have time to write about sports.

So, the Braves are going to have to go 6-1 to finish out the season at .500. As I am writing this, they are winning 8-7 vs. Colorado. McCann has hit 2 homers, one being a grand slam. They are talking about Joe Girardi possibly being the head coach for Jimmy's beloved Cubbies next season. I know that would make Jimmy very, very happy. Also, congrats to Jimmy on starting his new blog on SportsBlogNation. His site is called MusicCityMiracles. You should all visit the site. "All" being the three people that visit this site(me, Jimmy, and Don).

I just felt like putting a funny picture on this post, so that is what I did. That is what he gets for blocking a punt.

The Vols won yesterday. LaMarcus Coker exploded (not literally) for about 140 yards on around 10 carries. This is the guy that caught the WR reverse TD pass last week vs Fla., but did not get a single carry against them. He has explosive speed. Wish he would have gotten a chance vs. Fla. How about UGA almost losing to a team that lost to a Div. 2 team just three weeks ago. I was rooting for those Buffaloes. They should have won. Got their first FG blocked, and then the refs blew a spot call and a false start call that took away a Colorado TD. I hate UGA.

Titans lost today. Kerry Collins improved his 1.3 QB rating. At least I would think he did, since he actually threw a TD pass. He is still not good though. Falcons play tomorrow in New Orleans. On my fantasy team, I have Vick, M. Jenkins, Crumpler, and the ATL defense. I also have Reggie Bush. So, I am hoping for a 45-7 thumping by the Falcons, with the one TD from NO by Bush.

A man can dream, can't he?

It's Like Rain on Your Wedding Day

It's a free ride when you've already paid....

Another classic song.

Kobe says the USA basketball team needs better chemistry. This is ironic considering Kobe isn't exactly Dr. Chemistry himself. (nor is he Mrs. Reynolds Don Francisco's favorite chemistry teacher) Hey Kobe, I am talking directly to him because I know he reads this site, when you play on the team you can talk about it.

The USA team needs to realize international basketball is different than the NBA. You actually have to be able to shoot and play defense. Maybe even defense against a pick and roll. (If Malone and Stockton were still in the league they might actually get a championship)

The 5th Greatest Day of the Year

Greatest days of the year:
1. Opening day in baseball
2. Opening Sunday of the NFL
3. Thanksgiving
4. Christmas
5. Opening Thursday of the NFL

The reason today is so special is because there is a real NFL game and it lets us know that football season is here for real. Today is also special because my brother and sister in law will be having their second daughter at some point during the day.

If you are a Titans fan you need to check out the season preview in the Tennessean today. The predictions are interesting. The most wins anyone picked was 6. There is a lot of optimism on this team. Our friends over at Deadspin yesterday picked the Titans to finish second in the division. They are out of their minds. (They are not really our friends for we do not know them. They do have a really good sight though.)

Robaire Returns

The Titans finally did something that makes some sense. The team agreed to terms today with DT Robaire Smith. Smith is a 317 lb. force in the middle. This helps to sure up one of the biggest quesiton marks on this team. Again, the Titans are not a playoff team this year but they could be in 2007 and Robaire will be a huge contributor towards that goal.
